Cream hulls and cruiser performance my thoughts

Hey, I've gotta say I'm really warming up to my boat's cream hull, gives me Hinckley vibes, you know?
This boat isn't about speed, a Sabre would crush mine in a race. This is a cruiser all the way that is all about comfort for long trips.
Funny thing, it still beats my buddy's heavy boat when the wind kicks in. Anyone else has this happen with their cruiser? I'm interested in your story!

I don't have a story to share myself but I've read plenty of Island Packet owners say their boats come alive when the breeze fills in. That full foil keel and cutter rig may not win races but they'll keep you steady and moving when others start wallowing. What kind of conditions were you in when you pulled ahead of your buddy's boat?

Same deal here, she won't win races, but give me a stiff breeze and I'll surprise people, especially those dragging a full mini apartment behind them, cruisers aren't about the line honors anyway, they're about getting there comfortably and loving every minute of the trip in my opinion

Can't understand the younger generation these days, not that I'm as old as the Pyramids, but I'm not a hothead. Kids these days are all about speed, while some of us enjoy the leisure and relaxation. I don't care when I'll get to my destination, I care that I spend the time enjoying. Also, @bluehorizonrun bullseye on the cream hull!
