Installing Marine Air Conditioning

Finally caved and installed a marine air conditioner on my Island Packet 35, I went with a self contained unit under the v-berth, and the install was...well humbling, I thought I'd be adding a little comfort to the boat but instead, I uncovered a string of surprises amongst which was a bilge I apparently hadn't seen in that corner since Obama's first term. Anyway, when I finally fired it up and felt the nice whoosh of cool air, it was game changer.

Nice, I imagine that blast of cold air feels like heave on muggy nights!
It's funny how a simple project sometimes turns into an archaeological dig of boat maintenance!
I hope you didn't find anything too scary in that bilge!
Have you had a chance to se what kind of power draw you're getting?

Congrats on the upgrade! That cool air must feel amazing! Curious, what size unit did you go with, and how's the power draw been so far? Did you need to upgrade your shore power or battery setup? Thinking about doing the same on my IP35 soon!
