issue on LPG alarm

My dad's having a head scratcher with this used IP 40 sail boat he just bought. He says the LPG gas alarm keeps blaring for no good reason when he first flips on the LPG breaker switch.
The guy he bought it from thinks it's no big deal, telling him he can usually get it to stop by just cycling the breaker on and off a few times or airing out the boat (my dad believed him, goodness). Okay, the stove started to work fine and don't smell a leak, but this alarm is a real pain.
He's wondering if anyone else has run into this kind of problem?

I'm guessing maybe between a flaky sensor, old wiring, or the alarm itself going bad, start with checking the wiring connections to the sensor and alarm unit, especially any corrosion around the bilge area and yunno honestly, if it's an older unit, it might be time to just replace the sensor and alarm

That would drive me nuts! The alarm could be super sensitive or maybe the sensor's just old and needs replacing. Does only happens on that first startup or keeps acting up later too?
